Ludovica creates a new imagined figure inspired by ancient Egypt. In the scene, soldiers lead away bound Egyptian figures, while their destination remains unknown. The figures stand motionless, like sculptures, with calm expressions, as if unafraid of whatever fate awaits them, embodying a silent force that transcends reality.
In this work, she combines the expressive strokes of charcoal with the soft rendering of chalk to depict the figures, while layering the dynamic texture of oil pastels. This approach creates a tension and contrast between roughness and softness within the composition.
